Key Accomplishments

Since joining city council, I have focused on strengthening our infrastructure, protecting the city’s financial stability, and making sure we are planning ahead for responsible growth. I supported the adoption of the city’s Wastewater Master Plan and helped advance roadway planning initiatives to evaluate current conditions and establish a long term capital improvement plan. These are the kinds of foundational steps that ensure infrastructure keeps pace with growth and that residents are not left paying for problems that should have been planned for in advance.

I have also supported responsible fiscal policies that protect the city’s financial health while maintaining the services residents rely on. That includes updates to fee schedules to maintain balance, strengthening financial protections like the city’s utility lien authority, and supporting the establishment of the Hotel/Motel Occupancy Tax Fund to ensure proper oversight of city revenues.

Planning ahead is critical, which is why I authored and passed an ordinance amendment strengthening the city’s authority within the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ). This ensures development surrounding our city follows clear, enforceable standards before it ever reaches our city limits, helping protect residents from unplanned growth and unnecessary infrastructure strain.

I have also supported initiatives that strengthen public safety and protect the quality of life in our neighborhoods. That includes improvements to city facilities that support public works and emergency services, traffic safety improvements across residential streets, and adopting regulations that help preserve the character of our community.

I believe good leadership and good governance means doing the work today to prevent problems tomorrow, while protecting the values that make McLendon Chisholm a special place to live.
